Bone Broth as a base for soups & stock

Rather than buying stock cubes, make bone broth and freeze it to use as and when you need it. Bone broth is full of collagen that heals the gut lining and is delicious.

Ingredients

  • ½ -1 kg bones from pastured animals (chicken feet, carcass/necks or beef bones knuckles are best)

  • 4 cloves organic garlic

  • 5 liters filtered water

  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 carrots, 2 celery sticks, 1 onion & herbs

  • (optional) Ginger, star anise, cinnamon & chili

Methods

  1. Put all ingredients in a slow cooker overnight or longer and set to a low temperature (8-24 hours).

  2. In the morning, strain broth and refrigerate in separate glass containers.

This is great as a base for soups and sauces and is great for gut healing!
